Cape Town: Time’s up

Unfortunately the time has come around again for us to leave Cape Town.  People say you will fall in love with this city and I think we might have done. Hoping to stay just a little bit longer we made a trip to Home Affairs earlier in the week but were told there was no possibility of extending our visa a second time, without first flying home to England 😦

It was nice to catch the start of Spring though.  The flowers are out, as are my legs.

We also had time this week to try out Couchsurfing which was a really great experience.  The idea behind is that you can stay with locals all around the world or you can become a host yourself and let travelers stay with you.

Our hosts Frieda and Piet were so welcoming and let us stay in their lovely home in Somerset West, just a short journey from Cape Town.

After a fantastic couple of days (thanks so much Frieda and Piet) seeing the local area and feeling very South African, with a rugby match and Braai on the Saturday,  we returned to Cape Town.  We will be here for a few more days before we hire a car, jump on an intercape bus and cross the border to Botswana!
